So while I was bored this week with organizing my office for 2009, I started to surf around on YouTube for a video I remember finding around XMas time ... but I just couldn't remember the video title 100%. I knew what the video was about so I typed in the keywords and jumped from page to page until I finally located the video. Took me about 5 minutes to do, but I found it. [+]
I didn’t mean to, but I did create a farting website
Written by Scott in Tuesday, December 30th 2008
While on a fun holiday break I couldn't stop thinking about the guy who was making $10k per day selling the iFart application and the reasons why people thought it was a wise $1 purchase. Then when I read about his Christmas sales numbers which reached upwards of $27,249 net on Christmas day, I began to think of how to create a free alternative that anyone could use. So I browsed through the Apple AppStore and started to [+]
Recession? What recession? At least if you ask the creator of iFart Mobile
Written by Scott in Wednesday, December 24th 2008
Honestly you know our country is defintely in the economic-crapper if an "application" for the iPhone/iPod Touch called iFart Mobile (selling for 99-cents) is generating upwards of $10,000 a day for the developer.
Most interesting is that the developer of the app has been very transparent about his sales numbers during his app's climb in ranking. From a previous blog post:
12/14 - 841 units - #76 overall
12/15 - 1510 units - #39 overall
12/16 - 1797 units [+]
Santa came early for Will Ferrell (no pun intended) with $3-million investment
Written by Scott in Wednesday, December 24th 2008
The NY Daily News is reporting that Will Ferrell's Funny or Die website "raised $3 million in cash from a single secret benefactor."
They a very merry Christmas for the gang over at Funny or Die ... just can you please stop posting videos of Natalie Portman and Rashida Jones rolling around on the floor (or bed). I know I'm probably going to get a lot of hate-email for that comment, and don't get me wrong, I loved [+]
Approved for AdSense for Domains
Written by Scott in Monday, December 22nd 2008
Quick update ... I just got approved for the AdSense for Domains program. Haven't earned anything in it yet, but will keep you updated. I really just have a few domains in the program right now and all of them are for future projects, so I highly doubt they will get any type-ins. [+]
The author of 21, Ben Mezrich, coming out with a book about the Facebook creators
Written by Scott in Monday, December 22nd 2008
After reading Bringing Down the House and watching the movie 21, I got addicted to Ben Mezrich's way of storytelling and I picked up a copy of his latest book Rigged. I've made it only about 20 pages in before I decided to checkout Mezich's website to see if he had any new books coming out and what do you know ... he does ... and even better, its on a subject that would defintely [+]
Poor Googlers … no cash bonuses this year … only free G1 phones!
Written by Scott in Monday, December 22nd 2008
Everyone is feeling the effects of the economic situation here in the United States including those who work over at Google. Instead of getting the usual holiday cash bonus (someimes in the $xx,xxx range), Google decided to "thank everyone" that work for them by sending them a free unlocked G1 Android phone.
The holiday bonus is a Google tradition - it's a great way to thank everyone for their hard work. In the past, we've done [+]
My New Project: Generic Drug Database
Written by Scott in Saturday, December 20th 2008
With the whole economic problem going on here in the United States I've been looking more and more towards generic forms of various everyday goods and have now started using generic drugs. The problem I was having was trying to find out what generic forms were available to the public (and approved by the FDA) and I came up with the idea of creating an online website that shows just that ... and from that [+]
Milliondollarhomepage creator sells Bush Shoe Throwing game on eBay
Written by Scott in Saturday, December 20th 2008
Alex Tew has made news again and this time it only earned him $7,818 instead of the cool million he made on MillionDollarHomepage.com. This time Tew created a flash President Bush Shoe Throwing Game that was so popular it was crashing his server. Instead of letting his creation go to waste due to his server issues he sold it on eBay for a whopping 5,215 pounds ($7,818 USD).
What Tew called a "stupid little flash game" [+]More From Choose a category
